About the Author
Dr. Thomas A. Richards is a licensed psychologist and director of the Social Anxiety Institute in Phoenix. He is now in his twenty-fifth year of helping people overcome social anxiety, by use of rational cognitive-behavioral therapy.

He received both the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in psychology from Arizona State University. After receiving his doctoral degree, Dr. Richards served as instructor and assistant professor of psychology at several universities throughout the U.S. before opening his private psychological practice and becoming the leading clinician in the treatment of social anxiety disorder.

The Social Anxiety Institute was the first and only treatment center for social anxiety disorder when it open in the 1990s. Research continues to show group programs produce the best long-term results in helping people overcome social anxiety. The Social Anxiety Institute, led by Dr. Richards, has been running group therapy programs for over 25 years.

THE BIBLE OF GETTING OVER SOCIAL ANXIETY DISORDER!

It really is THE BOOK to read if you suffer from social anxiety disorder (SAD). There are so many books out there about SAD but none of them beats or tops this one. It will REALLY work and by that, I mean that by the time you reach the end of the book, you can count on being freed from SAD for the rest of your life. I mean it LITERALLY! So, by the time you reach the end of the book, you will have already regained your freedom from SAD and transformed into an entirely new person who will be able to live the life you always wanted and dreamed of and you could start celebrating this new milestone and begin conquering the world and building new meaningful relationships that will enhance your life in all kinds of ways. Dr. Richards is the only Doctor in the whole world on our planet who has founded an institute especially and specifically and exclusively to treat and overcome SAD. And he is certainly the best person in the universe to talk about it and about how to get over it and extricate it from your system forever. You will find out your self once you read the book and you'll be able to relate to what I'm saying. All the best to all SAD sufferers!

Highly recommended - worth every cent!

Dr. Richards' 'Overcoming Social Anxiety' is a simple, easy to follow guide to (a) better understand what social anxiety is and (b) learning strategies to overcome it.

Since I purchased the book, I have learnt so much more about myself and this devastating condition that has greatly affected my life for most of my life. Dr. Richards' explanations of the causes of social anxiety and his tried and tested strategies to overcome social anxiety are fairly easy to learn and practice, and they have proved to work or me. They have even 'spilled-over' and benefited other aspects of my life.

Social anxiety is a terrible condition that no one deserves to live with. Dr. Richards' therapy is the best way that I have encountered to overcome it.

Easy to read, good info for the price

As a person who has battled with social anxiety for many years, I found this book pretty helpful. I have heard this before, but this book reminds you that the negative thinking patterns are actually something real, in your brain, by way of neural pathways and not something you're imagining. With enough practice of turning your negative thoughts into positive ones through RATIONAL thinking, you can literally create new neural pathways that will eventually make rational, positive thoughts switch on much easier than the negative ones that have been flooding your mind for years.
The book is not all about neural pathways and the brain; don't worry, you won't be bored by that. It explains what CBT is, how it works, and steps you can take to manage your social anxiety. I only gave the book 4 stars because I felt that a lot of the subject matter could have been grouped together better; I found some of it scattered in different places. (I purchased the E-book version)

Perfect read for rainy day.

Alexis Bertrand thought she had the perfect life with a husband who loved her and a job she loved. Everything blew up when she found out her husband had been cheating on her and the man she thought she truly knew was putting her through the divorce from hell. When Alexis found out she was pregnant, she believed the baby was the only good thing to come from her broken heart. Her only constant show of support is her best friend Kyle Dupont. Alexis finds herself feeling something for Kyle and Kyle is not shying away from the feelings he has had for years for Alexis. Can Alexis let go of the pain of her past and create a new life with Kyle? He maybe able to help her on the path to healing.

Wonderful story, I loved that Alexis didn't just roll over she fought to begin a new life. She has a few hiccups but she is a strong woman who was inspiring. Kyle is so sweet, you know where his heart lies and you hope that Alexis can see that he is the one who she truly can count on. Perfect read for rainy day.

Touching story

I absolutely loved this story!!! Lexi is a strong, determined lady ready to take on the world. You can help but root for her from page one!!! I don't like to give away spoilers, so trust me when I say, Kyle is the man!!! Mary draws you into the story and makes it seem like you are right there living right along with Lexi!! Amazing! I can't wait to read Mary's next book!

Fantastic Story

Alexis Bertrand and Kyle Dupont were friends ever since they were little. Today they are best friends. Kyle introduced her to his friend Bennett. He didn't realize that they would fall in love and get married. Kyle was heartbroken because he cared for Lexi and didn't tell her. He tucked his feelings away. Five years later Lexi finds out her husband has been cheating on her and has been for quite some time. He wants a divorce from her. She moves home and tries to put her life back together. Then she finds out she is pregnant with Bennett's baby, but he doesn't want it. His girlfriend is pregnant and they want to get married. Lexi is brokenhearted but starts to move on. She sees Kyle a lot more since she moved home and they are starting to get close. He makes a pass at Lexi and they wind up in bed for some great sex. This starts a friends with benefits relationship for them, although Kyle would like more. He doesn't want to move too fast for Lexi and scare her off. This book does contain some sex but it isn't real graphic. This story is so sweet and I wanted to cry at parts especially toward the end. I know you will too. You will fall in love with these two in Love's Embrace

: Alan Tussy teaches all levels of developmental mathematics at Citrus College in Glendora, CA. He has written nine math books-a paperback series and a hard-cover series. An extraordinary author, he is dedicated to his students' success, relentlessly meticulous, creative, and a visionary who maintains a keen focus on his students' greatest challenges. Alan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Redlands and his Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from California State University, Los Angeles. He has taught up and down the curriculum from prealgebra to differential equations. He is currently focusing on the developmental math courses. Professor Tussy is a member of the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges.

R. David Gustafson is Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at Rock Valley College in Illinois and has also taught extensively at Rockford College and Beloit College. He is coauthor of several best-selling mathematics textbooks, including Gustafson/Frisk/Hughes' COLLEGE ALGEBRA, Gustafson/Karr/Massey's BEGINNING ALGEBRA, INTERMEDIATE ALGEBRA, BEGINNING AND INTERMEDIATE ALGEBRA, BEGINNING AND INTERMEDIATE ALGEBRA: A COMBINED APPROACH, and the Tussy/Gustafson and Tussy/Gustafson/Koenig developmental mathematics series. His numerous professional honors include Rock Valley Teacher of the Year and Rockford's Outstanding Educator of the Year. He has been very active in AMATYC as a Midwest Vice-president and has been President of IMACC, AMATYC's Illinois affiliate. He earned a Master of Arts from Rockford College in Illinois, as well as a Master of Science from Northern Illinois University.

Diane Koenig received a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Math Education from Illinois State University in 1980. She began her career at Rock Valley College in 1981, when she became the Math Supervisor for the newly formed Personalized Learning Center. Earning her Master's Degree in Applied Mathematics from Northern Illinois University, Ms. Koenig in 1984 had the distinction of becoming the first full-time woman mathematics faculty at Rock Valley College. In addition to being nominated for AMATYC's Excellence in Teaching Award, Diane Koenig was chosen as the Rock Valley College Faculty of the Year by her peers in 2005, and, in 2006, she was awarded the NISOD Teaching Excellence Award as well as the Illinois Mathematics Association of Community Colleges Award for Teaching Excellence. In addition to her teaching, Ms. Koenig has been an active member of the Illinois Mathematics Association of Community Colleges (IMACC). As a member, she has served on the board of directors, on a state-level task force rewriting the course outlines for the developmental mathematics courses, and as the association's newsletter editor.
